Richard McGuinness

CIAT

Since he joined tp bennett in 2005, Richard has built up a portfolio of major schemes in both the public and private sectors. Earlier in his working life he worked on two new-build prisons, a high-security facility for the Ministry of Defence and a new-build railway station in Hastings. He then progressed his career at the practice where he became responsible for delivering accommodation for 634 teams as part of the Metropolitan Police’s Safer Neighbourhoods scheme.

Richard has also led commercial projects for private clients, including new UK corporate buildings for Mercedes Benz and most recently, several large student residential schemes. He delivered a 338-bed student residential block in Stockwell, the award-winning Garden Halls, a 1200-bedroom student re-development in Bloomsbury, and Nido Spitalfields, a 500,000sq ft student residential and mixed use development with a 35-storey tower. Richard is currently delivering a 1,500 bedroom student residential scheme for the University of Hull.
