We are an independent architectural, design and planning practice, owned and managed in the UK  with a strong international presence.

We are diverse

Our expertise spans every aspect of architectural design including planning, strategy and interiors, and we have enormous resilience to match our passion. We value diversity in every sense: in our workforce, company culture, client-base and projects – and in freedom of thought.

As a robust and inquisitive practice, we seek to challenge orthodoxy. We scrutinise every brief and back every action with research and analysis, informed by in-house study teams who keep abreast of all advances from planning law to sustainability and materials science. This all helps us provide the best possible outcomes for our clients.

We make history

We celebrate our 100 year history. We are proud that we have seven listed buildings to our name and that we are one of the few practices with post-war listed buildings. We were in the vanguard of creative industries moving to Southwark, now one of the most feted creative communities in the world with Tate Modern and Borough Market to hand, with two offices in the North (Leeds and Manchester). As one of the top ten UK-owned architectural practices we recruit the best staff from around the world.

At tp bennett we believe in responsibility: to the environment, to our staff, end-users and communities. We undertake pro bono work for charities such as the Prison Reform Trust and our outreach programme works with local schools, institutions and cultural organisations.

We are a design democracy. A studio-based practice with multiple skills, everyone has a voice at tp bennett. As agenda-setters in the world of workplace culture, we ensure that our own workplace sets standards of wellbeing and enjoyment, with Friday socials and an annual study trip. We work in the spirit of cooperation, collaboration and fun, and we are ambitious for you, as well as for us.

Heritage

We celebrate a long-established expertise in listed buildings, built heritage and conservation.

The practice itself has seven listed buildings to its name and has worked on hundreds of historic buildings in both the domestic and international realm, including work at UNESCO World Heritage sites in Libya and Ghana.

In the spirit of creative reuse, our ethos is to re-animate and adapt redundant historic buildings to reinforce a unique sense of place within each project. With our in-house skills and experience to draw from – as well as access to a strong network of conservation specialists – the practice is in a prime position to animate the past and inform the future.
