Solution
Dartford’s Westgate development, a £75m scheme to regenerate the Kent town’s centre, is being led by culture and leisure. This new and prestigious cultural quarter is being created with a cinema at its heart, supporting Dartford as a regional destination within commutable distance to London.
With the backing of Dartford Borough Council and urban regeneration specialist Muse Developments, tp bennett designed the six-screen cinema to be the centrepiece of the cultural quarter: part of a wider mixed-use development that includes a new public square, 109-bed hotel, additional parking and 140 new homes. Positioned on the new square, the cinema will form part of a cultural link from the new leisure area to the town’s long-established Orchard Theatre.
