Solution
Société Générale’s London headquarters at One Bank Street adopted a spectacular, biophilic approach, pushing boundaries in corporate workplace design and creating a physical manifestation of the Group’s brand signature ‘The future is you’.
tp bennett, working alongside base build architect KPF and developer Canary Wharf Group, undertook an intense due diligence period to ensure the site responded to the client’s needs. From rotating the core to create three large trading floors and designing two feature interconnecting stairs to encourage interaction, every element of the building’s design was end-user focused. In addition to these open plan designs, the space features a number of breakout spaces, akin to a creative workplace, rather than the home to a large financial institution. The atrium provides an abundance of natural light across four floors and at the base sits the bank’s staff restaurant, multi-functional amenity space and roof terrace with spectacular views across London.
Boasting over 9,000 plants, biophilia is subtly integrated in the building’s architectural envelope and complemented by a natural colour palette and materials, including solid maple door handles and organic joinery.
