Solution
With a position in the City of London facing the river Thames, Vintners Place is a striking neo-classical edifice. Although in an exceptional location, with south-facing river views, the space within the mid-1990s building needed upgrading to bring it in-line with current expectations.
The client invited tp bennett to improve it for occupiers past and present, enhance its entrance and create more flexible internal spaces – all the while ensuring that it could continue to function during the works. The practice refurbished the reception and public areas, upgrading the lobbies, bathrooms, lifts and atrium, then worked on the vacant floor plates, improving the functionality of the offices to a high-quality ‘Cat A’ standard. While retaining its neo-classical style, attractive to many occupiers, the interiors were designed to reflect today’s more uncluttered and contemporary tastes, and in reference to the building’s location, innovative internal wayfinding used the river as an orientation device via 3D-printed signage.
