Laude Living

Laude Living offers 513 student bedrooms in the heart of Bologna.  Located just north of the central station, tp bennett has provided architectural and interior design services, creating a dynamic 15-storey tower with contemporary room and amenity spaces, serving the city’s multiple universities.

Offering a range of studio and ‘twodios’, room layouts are optimised for student comfort.  All studios have a private ensuite and kitchen while the ‘twodios’ interconnect to a shared living/kitchen space, providing a more interactive environment/layout.

With a dedicated 24-hour reception, the adjacent lounge and bar area activate the arrival floor, creating a bustling meeting point. From here, residents can easily access the lower  floors which are dedicated to student wellbeing and relaxation, including a gym, yoga room, cinema room and music practice room, particularly valuable for students studying at the nearby DAMS Music School.

With a quadrilateral base, an inner courtyard from ground to level 3 provides a secure outdoor amenity space for all residents.  A slender tower extends from levels 4 to 15 with the top floor designed to create areas for enhanced study, with bookable quiet rooms and a library for contemplative and collaborative work.  Taking advantage of the incredible views out across the city, the communal dining room is also located on this floor, offering students a unique panoramic experience.

The interiors palette is light, fresh and contemporary, complimented by a lighting strategy that is soft and welcoming. Externally, the facades are modulated by the rhythm of bedroom windows, articulated with decorative panels that reflect back the local ochre chromatics, making the building very much part of the city.

With a low-impact heating system and highly efficient and intelligent energy saving systems, Laude Living is expected to achieve LEED Gold certification.
