Main Board Promotions

April 15, 2024

Emma Green and Tajal Rutherford-Bhatt will join the tp bennett Board as Principal Directors. These promotions reinforce the practice’s commitment to high quality design combined with commercial acumen and a focus on creating a world class working environment for staff, together with a commitment to sustainability and social impact in the UK and beyond.

Emma Green is a designer with twenty-three years’ experience across both architecture and interior design; with an international portfolio covering a wide range of sectors including legal, high-end corporate, and large-scale finance & technology. Joining tp bennett in 2018, Emma’s focus on design excellence, sustainability and innovation has led to the delivery of outstanding fit-out and refurbishment projects, working with clients such as King & Spalding, William Blair, Cinven, Brookfield, Warburg Pincus and Citi.

An active member of Women In Property and a tp bennett mentor, Emma is passionate about creating diversity across the built environment industry and supporting the next generation of designers. She is steering the development of a new apprenticeship programme, looking for pathways to connect with secondary schools to open opportunities from an earlier age to more diverse backgrounds.

Emma commented, “As a Principal Director, I look forward to continuing to strengthen relationships with our clients and industry peers. I am excited to be a driving force for our market leading design, both in the UK and for our growing international portfolio. I will continue to champion the practice’s efforts, not only for a diverse workplace, but also a diverse industry; one that aligns the design world with the talent of the future.”

Tajal Rutherford-Bhatt is an interior designer with over twenty years’ experience. Since joining tp bennett as a graduate in 2004, she has played an active role in the growth and evolution of the company’s interiors studio.

Working across a range of sectors in the UK and internationally, Tajal has designed and delivered schemes for leading brands and institutions including the successful Capital Group London HQ in the Renzo Piano designed Paddington Cube, the refurbishment and transformation of global professional services firm Marsh McLennan’s UK headquarters, and the award-winning VitrA showroom.

A champion of tp bennett’s social value priorities, Tajal advocates the positive effect excellent design can have for communities. She sits on the board of Impact Dance, a Hip-Hop and Street Dance Academy for 11–19 year olds, having delivered a high quality environment that supports and nurtures their youth development programme.

Committed to continuing her stewardship of the tp bennett brand in her new role as Principal Director Tajal commented, “I am looking forward to this exciting new chapter at the practice, continuing to shape our brand, and strengthen our commercial presence on a domestic and international level, and with this, support new opportunities for community engagement, initiatives and outreach.”
