Gingerbread City 2023

Discover a whole city constructed entirely from gingerbread, icing and sweets, all designed and built by the UK’s leading architecture & design practices.

Curated by the Museum of Architecture, Gingerbread City is a canvas for future-forward city planning, exploring this year’s theme of ‘Water in Cities’.

Comprising four island zones, tp bennett’s ‘Bake the World a Better Place Community Centre’ fronts ‘Canal City’ offering an inclusive and flexible space at the heart of the city.

Appealing to a range of ages and interests, the centre has a yoga room, wellness suite, baking workshop, repair & recycle studio, climbing wall, Christmas market and the all-important roller disco!

Championing sustainable design ideas, there is an extensive green roof, rainwater harvesting funnels in the active spaces, biophilic design throughout, and even its own lock teaming with aquatic life.
