Solution

Tasked with moving 3,000 staff from three different buildings to one new headquarters, Société Générale – one of the largest European financial services groups – asked tp bennett to address its changing circumstances and improve efficiency.

The practice launched an engagement process with management including evaluating its workplace structure. It also introduced the concept of flexible working, developed high-level strategic space definition, and deployed its financial space tool to consider impacts across all working floors.

A pilot floor was created to test flexible working and examine space utilisation and working styles. A lack of meeting rooms and collaborative space was also addressed, and a dynamic central hub proposed with touchdown desks, informal meeting areas, presentation booths and refreshment areas.

With a new headquarters found in Canary Wharf – to be populated in 2019 – tp bennett’s inputs have driven the design within, supported by Société Générale’s “Work Smarter” initiative.
