Global re-insurance practice MS Amlin had outgrown its previous premises and made a decision to relocate its 800 staff to new offices in 122 Leadenhall Street in the City of London. Choosing tp bennett for the fit-out, the company hoped its new offices would help strengthen its brand message of ‘continuity’, engender agile working practices, help with client relationships and in general represent MS Amlin as a progressive company that was refreshing a conservative sector.
To achieve these aims, tp bennett provided more meeting space in which to develop those crucial client relationships. A rich palette of natural limestone, decorative apple veneers and Corten steel added texture, complemented by contemporary fixtures and furniture. At the heart of the building a staircase was added to vertically connect the business and become a focal point of energy and social interaction.
The company’s most dramatic space is on Level 45 of the Rogers Stirk Harbour & Partners building, which has one of City’s most exciting views, and is used for events, town hall gatherings and private dining.
“All these elements served to create a significant shift in the company’s working practice,” says tp bennett’s Shane Kelly. “They illustrated that MS Amlin was forward-thinking and leading change in the insurance sector.”
