Solution

During a process of expansion, the charity WaterAid took an additional floor in its existing office building and asked tp bennett to design both the new and existing offices within a very tight budget.

To best assess its needs, the practice first carried out a comprehensive briefing process with staff, holding workshops to explore their needs. Following this consultation, it created a central hub café: a space where staff and visitors could meet, eat and socialise. Light branding was applied throughout the offices, carrying the charity’s brand colours of blue and white together with photo murals from its extensive collection from around the globe: evocative of water and emphasising the organisation’s ethos and mission. A feature glass partition displayed a word-cloud with different translations of the word ‘water’, expressing the charity’s international nature and promoting WaterAid’s collaborative and inclusive working environment.
