Mark Darnell

Mark graduated from Portsmouth University in 2001 and began working for an architectural practice in Berkshire on a number of residential and commercial projects. He then joined tp bennett in 2006 and has been a qualified architect since 2009 upon completion of his Diploma in Architecture at Westminster University.

Since joining tp bennett Mark has continued to work in the residential sector as a Project Architect, fully involved with the design team from concept to planning submission. He has successfully delivered the conversion and complete renovation of a pair of Grade II listed Victorian terrace houses, Cranley Gardens, and achieved planning approval for an OSD at Woolwich, London providing 30,000 sq ft of affordable and saleable residential units.  

Mark has broadened his portfolio of work and knowledge by branching into the office sector, working on the redevelopment of 02's headquarters in Slough where he led on the design of the building's external skin; the refurbishment and fit-out of a Grade II listed building for the National Audit Office and the refurbishment and Cat A fit out of 55 Old Broad Street where he was the Project Architect.

During his time at tp bennett, Mark has offered strategic and workplace advise, developed winning planning submissions and obtained extensive experience working with existing buildings. His interest in sustainability along with detailed knowledge has delivered buildings that perform well when considered both in their entirety, and down to their smallest details. Mark was promoted to Associate Director in 2014.
